ELMO:  You no like Elmo?

TERRY:  No, that’s my surname.  Gross.

ELMO (sadly declarative):  You no like Elmo.

TERRY:  No, I love Elmo!

ELMO:  Why you called Elmo “gross”?

TERRY:  I did not, of course.  (Goes to hug ELMO.)

ELMO:  Get off me, Muppet-hater!

TERRY (anger rising):  Don’t be silly, Elmo!  Get over here.  (Lunges at ELMO.)

ELMO:  Help!  Public radio celebrity attacks Elmo!

TERRY:  You red, walking carpet!  Stop it!  (Wraps arms around ELMO, and tries pulling him toward her — pulling off Muppet body to expose puppeteer’s arm!)

ELMO:  You killed Elmo!!! Terry killed Elmo!

TERRY (looking at exposed arm):  Gross.
